1995 Porsche 993

Herr Liebnitz’ Amaranth-Violet Werks coupe

  • One of the rarest rennbow shades you will ever see from the 993 era.  L39D Amaranth Violet is the peak of 993 color-way, a single-stage violet punch that is paint-to-sample scarcity, as it was rarely ordered or much less seen. The tone of amaranth is hyacinth purple sans metallic, giving it a skittles tonality that is peak rennbow rarity.  We have had amaranth on our wishlist for years, and just returning from Amelia werks to witness Alois RUF with a custom order CTR in the same shade out on the fairway at the Ritz!

‘Herr Liebnitz’ was a Zuffenhausen engineer, he speced this coupe for himself in late 1994 as soon as the 993 production began.  It's a purist optioned car sonderwunsch coded 09991:  m030 suspension, rear wiper delete, heated comfort seats, x89 body color cup wheels, air conditioning (recharged in August) plum gray interior (heaven for leather conditioned) pairs perfectly with violet exterior and it's in amazing condition for its age.

The car was ordered internally for Zuffenhausen delivery by Porsche engineer Liebnitz on February 20th 1995.  It stayed under the care of the factory until summer of 1997 according to service book nearly 40km with rarely seen factory service stamps in the first three years of use.

Prior to power pack option the car comes with a story of its "Cognac engine,” a story told in porsche employee ranks from Zuffenhausen: Porsche employees that ordered a car from the factory knew how to get ahold of the strongest engines, at the time the “over-performing” engines were set aside by the engine department.  So instead of reducing the performance of the engine, they would hold them for employee ordered cars in exchange for bottles of cognac, and the over-performing engines would be earmarked on the line for the employee werks cars.

  • Amaranth became a bucket list for me ever since witnessing her 964 cousin of Violet Metallic on the 964 Jubilee.  Liebnitz has been three stage corrected and full coated in ceramic, it's in outstanding original condition measuring out in all original thicknesses between 4-7 mils.

  • Since taking delivery last simmer, we have enjoyed over 2000 miles on Amaranth.  The ‘cognac’ engine pulls strong and the clutch is newly replaced evident as this C2 drives incredibly smooth as we rallied her across Wisconsin to lake Geneva in September, the car gets looks everywhere you go especially with that flat single violet over the 993 fuselage which is the best of the coke bottle curves as Hatters’ design team achieved.

  • The car has an immense documented service history dating back to werks delivery and finished by prior owner Rolf Meyer, executing a complete engine out reseal at 107k.

The original cup wheels scream rennsport in body color spokes wrapped in Michelin pilots. Following our paint correction and ceramic coating, we sent the car to Raymond for a cowl repair with a new windshield & weatherstripping and rebuilt check strap on drivers door.  This common ailment plagues all 993 / 964 and we’re enthused to deliver this example fully sorted for her new steward.

Our Porsche technician Nick just completed all fluid services for next owner : liquimoly oil, transmission, and brake fluid service ensuring this 993 is ready for constant enjoyment as the most modern classic 911 from design lead tony hatter.   We have a full file of service history, service books back to Zuffenhausen, & two keys with modern immobilizer fobs.

Amaranth is fully detailed and resting in our Porsche club facility waiting for her first domestic caretaker.
